Vacation: Day Two

Antelope Canyon

Here are a few pictures of the antelope Canyon. It was one of our favorite things we did on vacation. We would highly recommend it to anyone going in that direction.

Monday morning, we were up bright and early ready for our excursion to the Antelope Canyon. We were picked up at our hotel by the Antelope Canyon tour company and taken into the canyon. The canyon is on Navajo Indian Reservation, so you must take a guided tour to visit the canyon. Our tour guide was a cute young lady, who was quite good at her job. She was very helpful trying to make sure everyone would get good pictures of the canyon. She would even help you with your camera settings and take the pictures for you, if you wished. It was the perfect day in the canyon and we were there at just the right time of day for the best light, to produce the most colorful pictures. Our tour group was a small group which made it much more enjoyable.

After our tour of the canyon, we were on the road again and on our way to our next stop which was the Grand Canyon. We stopped several times along the way to look at some of the Native American Indian art at the stands by the roadside... it was all quite beautiful.

We made it to the town of Tusayan that evening at the south entrance of the park and spent the night at the Red Feather Inn. It definitely wasn't a Hilton hotel, but none-the-less was clean and good enough for the night. We were so tired, that I don't think it would have mattered where we stayed!
